Cellular communications have a transformative effect in a region´s economy and development.
Perú has the OIMR figure (Rural mobile infrastructure operator), a regulatory figure established by the regulator authority. When facing adverse geographical conditions, satellite becomes a key player in the deployment of cellular networks. Andesat has the necessary technical resources to extend the capillarity of mobile cellular networks in remote areas that suffer from lack of connectivity, fast and at a low cost. The installation of these services depends on the legal frameworks of each country where we operate, and on the deals with the operators of cellular networks. We are currently installing more than 200 satellite stations with cellular cells in Perú.
Even though Chile relies on a good cellular coverage, the service is not available in certain areas. That´s where our presence can make a difference.
Global NMS (Network Management System) is a service that allows for an automatic back up of antennas with auto tracking.
In the event of loss of the satellite signal due to any given cause (an earthquake, for example), the service automatically searches for a second alternative from another Andesat teleport. In the same way, backup for fixed services can be easily implemented.
